Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

This year we put the tree up on Monday night and the girls were such a help. We always put on Christmas music and start the decoration madness. This year Paul thought he would let the girls try to put the tree together since it's color coded but there was an extra branch and no one knew where it went, lets just say we have never had a branch left over before. Paul usually puts the lights on and the beads and then the girls get all excited to place the ornaments on the tree. Growing up we always had a beautiful tree and I was so glad my mom let us put our ornaments we made on the tree. So I'm that kind of mom! For the main tree I want it to be the families tree not just moms tree, someday when I don't have kids living at home or I have a bigger family room to put up another tree I can have that perfect mom tree. But for now I love the tree that is put together by everyone.
This is also the year of crazy little man and I had no idea how he would respond to the Christmas tree. My friend let me borrow a gate which I greatly appreciate but I couldn't grasp the fact that my tree needed a gate around it. So I decided not to use the gate. Now this was truly a blessing, while the tree was being put up Mason got pocked by one of the branched and didn't like the feel so he is staying far far away from the tree. This has to be the best news so far this month.

I'll say it again, you are an awesome mom. I am not the good mom that puts my own selfishness aside...I can almost hear the boos! The only solace I tell myself...okay justification, is that I don't have many kiddie homemade ornaments yet. Oh well, right! I will hopefully evolve. Love that your girls have trees too. Aren't holidays awesome!

So fun I love Christmas trees. Luckily Mason stears clear of the tree! Payten mostly walks up to ours and shakes her head no. I have only caught her a couple a couple times touching it with her pointer finger and when she sees me look at her she runs away crying. Threatening to spank a couple times does wonders!!

I love that you're the mom with the homemade ornaments, too! My mom was that way. Now, I just need my kids to make some for our tree for me to display! And I love that your girls get their own trees! Good idea! =)
