KAR Dance Competition

Well we have had such a wonderful week, yeah right! Everyday I did so much laundry I wanted to scream, it was piled in my laundry area and everyday it seemed to grow not decrease. Then I had to check the girls hair everyday to look for nits. My friends daughter had lice before and it was a horrible thing for her. So all I know is her story so by the middle of the week I am about ready to have a break down from all the laundry and constantly checking their hair. Then I start to itch and now I'm freaking out because how can I get rid of everyone else's lice if I have it. So Paul says he will check me and keep up on any nits in my hear. Paul says we look like the monkeys cleaning each others fur. Boy that's what I want to hear, we're a family of monkeys.

Mackenzie had dance competition again this weekend so that means no rest for us or getting anything done at home. She did a wonderful job and had a lot of fun. This competition was better then last week, here are her awards:

Trio - Top 1st Place, 5th overall high point in duet/trio category, and they were invited to New York City this summer for a dance conference.

Jazz - Top 1st Place, 5th overall high point in the 11 year old category, and a special Most Sassy Award

Tap - Top 1st Place, 5th overall high point in the 8 year old category

Lyrical - Top 1st Place, 4th overall high point in 8 year old category

Production - Top 1st Place, 1st place overall high point in production category with a $100.00 Award

Overall she did a great job and we are very pleased with her accomplishments. She works very hard through the week and is down a the studio 4 days a week and does a good job keeping up on her school work.

Regarding the photos, there are not that many this time. They would not allow any photography. I really hate it when you can't take pictures of your own kid, we pay over a hundred dollars for her to compete, I should be able to take pictures and video if I want. So I was sneaky and got pictures of 3 of her 5 dances. No Jazz pics because I was handed a very wet all the way through my clothes little man and production was a quick change with dances back to back. I'm not to worried I still have recital and Nationals.

I am so looking forward to May, there is no competitions or any huge commitments. Mackenzie does want to do her trio in the ward talent show so I said I think we could handle that. I also can't wait til the last week in May, California here we come! So looking forward to a little relaxation, but then I think, its a vacation with 3 kids. Who cares it's California and I love the beaches there so it will be great no mater what.

This week we are still checking for nits and the laundry is not as much but we are very excited to have this process over. I know our family is very blessed and I need to not sweat the small things and focus on all the blessings that we receive each and everyday.
