So we finally made our first trip down to Kings Island this year. We did season passes again since the kids love going to the park and Mason is so fun to watch on the rides this year. We went last weekend and of course it had to be the hottest weekend we have had this summer. Yes, our crazy family was standing out in the heat waiting to ride rides and just trying to stay cool in the 90 degree weather. Now I know we will be enduring hotter weather soon enough so I will stop crying like a baby. The kids enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to when we take off again to the park.

German Village

This past weekend I wanted to take the kids to German Village. When I was growing up we would take trips down to Columbus and visit all these cool places. Now some of the places we used to visit are long gone but German Village is still around. One of my favorites places to see in German Village is the book shop which is 32 rooms, kind of like a little maze. Well I wanted the kids to be able to check this place out. So our first stop was the book shop and it was almost the way I remember it. The kids had a lot of fun checking this place out and finding a couple books to get. They couldn't believe how it would wined around and that there were books in every craves. They had a blast and asked when could we go back.

Next on our stop was lunch. There is this yummy sandwich shop that we have been to and wanted to take the girls too. So thanks to Jen for steering us in the right direction to be able to find this place. Paul & I enjoyed our lunch but the kids had mixed reviews, except for Mason he loved the pickles!

Our last stop in German Village was the German bakery. Oh, can I say Yummy! It was so hard to choose just one, they all looked so good. Mackenzie had a Chocolate Bomb, which is chocolate mouse inside a hard coating of chocolate. Mariah wasn't sure what she wanted so she picked 2 Macarons, one strawberry & one chocolate mint. Paul had a chocolate peanut butter carmel cake. I had a Lemon Tart and poor Mason was unable to enjoy in the treats. We each tasted each others and liked them all, Mariah's strawberry Macaron was kind of funny tasting but over all very good. Let's just say I am needing another Lemon Tart, it was so Yummy I just can't believe it!

I'm happy that you found the sandwich shop... I LOVE that place! We need to go and just shop all the little shops in German Village one of these days!
