Mason's Hospital Visit

Mason has been having some health issues since September when he switched to whole mike. He has diarrhea about 2 to 5 times a day and his appetite has gone from eating well to hardly eating at all. We thought it was a food allergy but there would be a few days that would go by and he would be fine and then it would start all over again. I was worried and tried taking him off some diary like milk, cheese, eggs, etc. But we didn't really see much of an improvement. I look at my little boy and see a very skinny little guy with no more rolls and chubby little cheeks. His pants are falling down now and you can see his ribs through his shirt, it really makes my heart hurt. So after a few major blow outs on Saturday, Paul and I couldn't take it anymore and took little man down to the hospital. They ran some tests and found that is potassium/electrolytes were low and wanted to admit him. We thought this might be good and that maybe they could get to the bottom of what is wrong with our little boy. Days went by and tests were done but everything came back negative. Well that's a relieve, our little guy doesn't have a major diseases but they still have no clue whats causing his symptoms. I wanted an allergy test done but they didn't want to do that, of course they think it's something major instead of something a little bit simpler. Life sucked in the hospital, poor Mason was dealing with everyone pricking him and not able to leave his room because of the diarrhea. That means I can't leave unless he was asleep and that was hard since he didn't like sleeping in that cage bed. We were able to come home Tuesday, I had had enough of that place and non of the doctors had a plan on what to do. In honesty no one really wanted to take the time because of the holiday so I wasn't going to stay in there until everyone was back from there vacations and wanted to figure out what was actually wrong. He is still the same and ask if you would keep him in your prayers until we know what is going on with him. Thanks to all those that helped with my kids and brought meals in to my family while I was with Mason.
We still found a smile or two out of our little guy while in the hospital.
He really loved those blocks, a toy we need to get for him.
He loved seeing his sisters since he hadn't seen them for a few days.

Wow life has been too busy to check blogs lately! I am so sorry little Mason is still stugling so bad! Hopefully you will find someone who is able to give you some hope. I am sure it is extra difficult since he is so young he cant tell you what is bothering him too!! We will keep him in our prayers!

I am so sorry. I had no idea any of this was going on. I know it's hard to have a sick kid. Especially when they can't tell you exactly what it wrong. We will definitely remember him (and the rest of you) in our prayers. Keep me posted.

I hope everything is all right. We will definitely keep your family in our prayers. Have you been able to find out what's wrong?
