Our April In A Nut Shell

Has April really came and went, it all seems like a blur to me. Maybe because we already live a very busy life through the week and add on a major activity every weekend and then your life just rushes by. Even though it was a crazy month we really enjoyed every minute of it, well maybe almost every minute. So here's what our April looked like in a nut shell!

Great Wolf Lodge

We didn't want the kids to go with out a little fun over spring break since we couldn't go any where because of competition the next weekend. So we packed up the car and took a long weekend down to Cincinnati. We visited the Newport Aquarium which is right on the Ohio River, the kids really enjoyed looking at all the animals. Then we headed over to the Lodge, which was a surprise for the kids. I'm not much in to surprising the kids about a trip because all the fun is getting ready for it but we made an exception this time just to see the look on their faces. They had a blast with all the water slides and fun water activities. Definitely a place we would like to visit again, you really don't even need to leave the lodge they have everything.

Star Systems Competition

So the next weekend the girls had their 2nd competition this year. The best part was that Grandma Porter flew in to see the girls in action. I love watching my girls dance, Mariah gets more & more confident with each time on stage and Mackenzie is just a beautiful dancer and I can see her growing each year. Grandma must have brought some good luck with her because the girls danced great and we got an offer on our house.







Going To The Father Daughter Dance In Style

At our elementary school they host a Father Daughter dance each year. Well since this is Mackenzie's last and Mariah's first Paul thought he would do a little something special for them. Yes, Mr. Porter rented a limo for them and Mackenzie was able to invite 2 of her BFF's to ride along too. These girls were so gitty it wasn't even funny, they had the time of their lives. This is something they will never forget.

Can you tell what the theme was? One good thing about my girls dancing is that we have just about a costume for everything!

Since we had the limo pretty early we went out to dinner with some friends and rode around in style! Thanks Toni for being so awesome!

Our New AZ House



Since we received a offer on our house in just 4 weeks we had to really begin our search for a new home. So we made arrangements to head out to AZ and begin our search. The only catch is that I couldn't be gone over a weekend with the girls having their next competition and Mariah having her dances on Friday evening. So this meant we get there on Monday and fly out on Thursday, really only giving us 3 days to find a house and make an offer. Well we were up to the challenge and I fell bad cause we really ran my friend Sara all over the place. But we were able to find this beautiful home and make an offer and even find a dance school for the girls. Let me tell you this trip was all business, except for when Sara and I went and got pedicures but that was definitely necessary.

Show Stoppers Competition







You know that old saying No Rest For the Weary well that would be me. Seriously, I woke up Thursday morning in AZ super sick knowing I would be traveling all day. When I arrived home I had to roll 80 rollers in Mariah's hair to have it all curly for Friday night, believe me that wasn't fun. Thankfully by Friday evening I was able to get around with out feeling sick and we made it through the night. Mariah did great and danced her heart out since this was her last competition. She has had an amazing year with these girls and will miss dancing with them next year. Mackenzie pulled it off like always with having a great weekend of dance. She had to dance everyday and looked amazing doing it. This was also her last comp with these girls and some she has been dancing with for the last 4 years. She will miss all of them but we know she will find her fit at the new studio too.

Bye Bye House

Well our home is no longer ours and it feels a little weird. I know my big emotional break down will be at the end of next month but I'm trying not to think about that yet. It sure is crazy how everything is falling into place so it's hard to deny what we're doing isn't right. So wish me luck with a month full of packing. Oh, Lucky Me!!!!!!
Sure glad this month is over, I just need a little rest maybe just a minute!
