Starbound Competition

We had our first competition this past weekend and the girls did great. Mackenzie is an old pro at this but this was Mariah's first one and I thought for sure she would be nervous. But I was wrong she handled it great and looked amazing on stage. At this comp the scoring went like this High Gold, Gold, High Silver, Silver, and Bronze. Our school did really well and took a few first place awards which also includes $100.00. We were so proud of both the girls this weekend even with the scare that Mackenzie might not be able to compete. She got the stomach flu on Wednesday night and was very sick all the way up until Friday night. She still had a stomach ache on Saturday but you would have never know it on stage, she is a true performer. I love taking pictures at these things, it's so much fun to look at them after wards. But I only put a few up of each dance maybe I'll up together a slide show when I have a little more time.

Lyrical Solo - Gold She did really well for her first time.


Lyrical Line- High Gold, 1st place over all They all looked amazing!


Jazz Line- Gold They looked so cute up there can't wait to see what the judges say since this is there strongest dance.


Tap Line - High Gold, 4th place over all.


Production - High Gold, 1st place over all.





Jazz Trio - High Gold, 1st place over all and High point in their category.

Mariah



Jazz Line - High Gold, 1st place over all She was so excited you wouldn't believe it. Then when she got her first trophy, she was so gitty it was hilarious. Check out her face in her jump picture, she told me she was making face expressions like Mackenzie, I couldn't stop laughing!



Tap Line - Gold They did an amazing job, her teacher said they were scored wrong and if that didn't happen then they would have had a different placing. Oh well, they still looked really good up there and they had so much fun!

We have a little break and then in April we have 2 comps, so that will be a busy month. The girls are already talking about how they can't wait to get back on stage, they sure do love it!
